Although the United States comprises only 4.6% of the global population, it produces 33% of the world’s solid waste. New York State (and especially New York City) are contributing to the generation of this waste. According to the New York State Department of Conservation, New York has approximately 30 landfills annually accepting around 6 million tons of waste from across the state. Additionally, New York exports 6.1 million tons of waste to neighboring states! A collaboration with PPR can help the Empire State take proactive steps toward improving its low recycling rate by providing easy plastic waste disposal, which ensures both economic and environmental gains for New York-based companies.
