Nevada has set a goal to reach a 25% recycling rate for all counties with populations larger than 100,000. Thus far it has made great strides toward reaching this goal. According to the data reports provided by the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resource, in 2016 statewide recycling reached 22.4%. Of this amount 2.26 of total tonnage was comprised of plastic. While this may seem like a small number, it amounts to 18,907.6 tons. While these numbers are impressive and track positive growth toward Nevada’s recycling goals, they still fall short when compared to the national average of 34%.A collaboration with PPR can help the Silver State keep on track while taking proactive steps toward improving its recycling rate. PPR achieves this by providing easy plastic waste disposal, which ensures both economic and environmental gains for Nevada-based companies.
